Privacy Policy

What we collect

Gold Diff does not require account creation and does not collect personal information beyond what is described below.

  • Boris Check lookups: When you enter a Riot game name and tag line, we look up your account via the Riot Games API. The resulting PUUID (a non-personal Riot identifier) and match analysis results are stored in our database to power the check history feature. No email address, password, or other personal data is collected.
  • Server logs: Standard web server logs record IP addresses and request paths for security and debugging. These are not used for tracking and are rotated regularly.
  • Champion data: The champion build pages are generated from aggregated match data and contain no personally identifiable information.

What we do not collect

  • No cookies beyond session-necessary ones
  • No advertising trackers or third-party analytics pixels
  • No email addresses or contact information
  • No payment information

Riot Games API data

Match and player data is retrieved via the Riot Games API. This data is publicly available through Riot's developer program and is used strictly for in-site build analysis. We do not sell, share, or use this data for any purpose other than powering the Gold Diff site.

All Riot data usage is subject to Riot Games' developer policies.

Data retention

Boris Check history is retained for up to 90 days to enable the check history feature, after which it is automatically purged. If you would like your PUUID and associated check history removed sooner, please open an issue on our GitHub repository with your Riot game name and tag line and we will remove it within 30 days.

Third-party services

  • Riot Games API: Used to retrieve match and player data. Subject to Riot's Privacy Notice.
  • Data Dragon CDN: Champion images and icons are loaded directly from Riot's CDN. No personal data is sent.
  • Google Fonts: Typography is loaded from Google Fonts. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
